Old Man Grant
"Old Man Grant deserves to be on stage with the likes of The Devil Makes Three, Brown Bird and Pokey Lafarge. Their unique sound would find a home in any music scene in any city, anywhere. - Steve Mitton, Murray Street Kitchen
Old Man Grant multi-instrumental trio from Ottawa, Ontario with music characterized by expressive, rhythmic playing and soaring three-part harmony. Since the group’s original format as a duo in 2014, they have expanded, evolved, and taken the southern Ontario music scene by storm. Since summer 2016, the group has completed their “Why Not” tour of the Canadian East Coast, and their “Dead of Winter” tour of Southern Ontario. Aside from their favourite living rooms and dive bars, Old Man Grant has been bringing their Thunder & Spit to such notable stages as Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern, Wakefield’s Blacksheep Inn, an official showcase at the Folk Music Ontario conference, as well as Ottawa’s CityFolk and Marvest festivals. As the world changes, so too does the band’s sound and subject matter. Things are getting a little darker, a little swampier… This summer, Old Man Grant is looking forward to connecting with audiences both familiar and strange as they travel coast to coast, placing the songs off their upcoming album through trial-by-fire.
